Mmmmmmm, cake. It’s Friday, which means it’s Cake Day! Working for Sony really does have its percs, and cake is definitely one of them. They give us free cake every Friday! It’s one of the small joys to look forward to. For 3 minutes on a Friday afternoon I forget all of my worries, sit back and let a jam donut work its magic. The office goes quiet, the smiles come out and everyone is happy. Cake is victorious! Ahhh life is good.
So, it’s 03:56am and I’m thinking about cake. Not much new there then! As the week comes to an end it’s time to reflect. It’s been pretty slow! The highlight (until cake, mmmmmmm…cake) has been my Xbox 360 red-ringing. For those who don’t know what that means, basically my 360 has died. It’s dead and it’s not coming back. They call it the ‘Red Ring of Death’ (no, it’s not a medical term) or RRoD for the geekz of teh netz. 3 flashing red lights on the front of your 360 spells trouble. Thankfully Microsoft is so kind as to fix it for free, knowing full well that it’s all their fault (it’s an inherent hardware problem in all 360s across the globe, it’s just a matter of time until you get it). Not much of a highlight, but hey it’s been a slow week! In other news my parents have gone away to Turkey for two weeks, which is really nice for them because they recently celebrated their Silver wedding anniversary. I asked them to bring me something ‘strange’ back. My mum looked at me all funny when I asked that and said, ‘What do you mean, strange? Like what?’. I looked at her blankly and said, ‘You know…something weird! Like…um…a kangaroo testicle wallet or something’. She looked at me for a moment, probably regretting all the pushing she did 23 years ago and said, ‘You’ve already got a wallet!’ I love my mum :D
Other than that, not much else has gone down this week. I found out that one of my friends is in hospital, so that’s been on my mind a bit. Get well soon! Art wise I haven’t done anything. Oh tell a lie, I have done something! I bought a couple of black caps on the net and had a go at designing something on them using acrylic paint. It didn’t go well! The paint kinda seeped into the fabric, meaning I had to do loads of layers. As a result the paint went all hard and it just didn’t work at all. Oh well, you win some you lose some! Maybe I’ll have another go once I get my airbrush! I have an idea for what I want to paint first with my airbrush. I was thinking Pris from Blade Runner, when she airbrushes her eyes black. Quite ironic that, because I had it in my mind to do before I even thought of getting an airbrush kit! Hopefully it’ll go well, as I’ve been looking at loads of tutorials to help me get started.
I’m in a total Blade Runner mood at the moment, so I think I’ll share with you one of the greatest movie lines ever from that very film.

“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-Beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die”.

And on that note, it’s time to sleep for me. Night!
